About
First, the obvious: Pie-Scream is a blog about pie. In my posts I’ll treat you to pie poems, recipes, tips, interviews, and a bit of natural history.
Now the not-so-obvious: In addition to the whole American-icon thing and best-dessert-ever thing, I think pie can teach us to want what we love and love what we want. To that end, I write prose poems about pie. They’re collected in an as-yet-unpublished manuscript called A Commonplace Book of Pie and featured weekly here. You can also read my poems in Best New Poets 2011, Poetry Northwest, Bateau, and The Portland Review.
Finally: I’m an MFA candidate at the University of Washington. I stretch my grad-school budget by selling homemade frozen pie to order and fresh-baked pie at Pie Stand, a monthly party on my front lawn. If you live in Seattle, order a frozen pie or sign up for the Pie Stand mailing list by e-mailing me at kate (at) pie-scream.com.

Please put me on the Pie Stand mailing lust as well. Pie is my favorite dessert!!!
Hey Kate,
Wayno from Ballard Market here. I have a friend that raises pigs for his families use in Darrington. All organic feed, Berkshire cross breed. Interested in any local leaf lard next time he butchers?
